On June 23, 2019, people around the globe celebrated women engineers on International Women in Engineering Day (#INWED19).
This global awareness campaign, coordinated by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES), aims to increase the profile of women in engineering worldwide and focus attention on the amazing career opportunities available to girls in engineering and related fields. Individuals and companies showcased women transforming the future through hashtag and story as they recognized women in engineering and related industries.
At Global Edge, we understand that around the world our women engineers are shaping the future. We want to celebrate their achievements and look ahead to the next generation and encourage them to follow their passions. The Global Edge Consultants supporting women in the technical industry is of no surprise to anyone who knows us. Our founder and CEO, Kathy Eberwein, comes from an engineering background and was introduced to the technical recruitment industry in 1998. Being a woman owned business is something we are proud of, and we hope to capitalize on our diversity in the industry as we encourage other women in the technical industry to engage their interests. Following her passion has led Kathy to not only starting a successful business but creating a global company that has been recognized for its mark on the industry globally. This tenacity and professionalism were showcased when Kathy was recently nominated for this year’s Power Play Award: The Rainmaker. The Rainmaker award honors a woman who has delivered outstanding business results, showcasing the value that women bring to the LNG value chain. Additionally, colleagues might note her unrelenting drive or unique ability to advance a business goal, but she likely describes herself as someone who thrives on success. These qualities encompass our CEO, Kathy, and we are honored that she is nominated for such an award!
