On August 24, 2019, The Global Edge Guyana team participated and donated in the giving and fitting of shoes for less fortunate children.
Social responsibility is one of the core values at The Global Edge, thus we make an effort to take advantage of opportunities to give back to our global communities. We are thrilled our Global Edge Guyana team was able to participate with Come Alive Network Inc (CANI) through a shoe drive and make a positive difference in their community.
Come Alive Network Inc. (CANI) is a non-governmental and not-for-profit organization founded in 2012 by Ryan Hoppie, ExxonMobil’s Socioeconomic Advisor. CANI was established to actively support youth development and enable youth using applied global perspectives to effectively contribute to genuine and progressive community and global development.
The CANI Shoe drive is an annual event held since 2014 that supports less fortunate children by allowing them to have access to new school shoes, backpacks and stationery in preparation for the new school year.
The contribution to the Shoe and Stationery Drive made by Global Edge Guyana fitted 44 students from along the remote Pomeroon river area and 20 students from the Golden Grove area on the East Coast.
We are proud to be working to give back to our global communities and to be partnering with great initiatives, such as CANI and hope to continue working with like initiative in the future.
